Have you made a resolution to get healthy? Maybe start eating better, lose weight or just be more aware of what foods you’re putting into your body? You’re definitely not alone. I’m always looking for new, delicious ways to enjoy healthy foods, and this Green Super Food Smoothie is definitely one of my new favorites!
This yummy smoothie is loaded with everything good for you – Greek yogurt and almond milk as a good source of protein. The banana, kiwi, and pineapple are a great source of vitamins, minerals and fiber. And lets not forget the kale – kale is considered one of the healthiest foods out there. It’s a great source of vitamin B6, dietary fiber, calcium, potassium, vitamin E, vitamin B2, iron, magnesium, vitamin B1, omega-3 fatty acids phosphorus, protein, folate, and niacin. In fact, the more kale you can throw into this smoothie, the better!
This smoothie is super simple to make. It’s great for a quick, on-the-go breakfast for busy mornings, and a great way to refuel after a workout. All you need to do is toss the ingredients into a blender, and simply blend until smooth (around 1 minute.)
The result is a delicious, and super-nutritious smoothie that will do wonders for your body. I’ve had this topped with a few pistachios, as well, which adds a nice crunch and complimentary flavor.
Here’s how this fantastic smoothie comes together:
- 1/2 c. Plain non-fat Greek yogurt
- 1/2 c. almond milk (or your milk preference)
- 1/2 c. fresh or frozen pineapple
- 1/2 banana
- 1 kiwi, peeled
- 2 handfuls of fresh kale, stems removed
- Add all ingredients to blender. Blend for about 1 minute until smooth. Pour into glass and enjoy right away.
