Peppermint Red Velvet Fudge

Peppermint Red Velvet Fudge

Gorgeous red velvet fudge topped with crushed peppermints is the perfect way to ring in the holiday season!  This delicious fudge recipe is perfect for your holiday candy trays, cookie exchanges and Christmas parties!  Leave this fudge for Santa and he's sure to leave you an extra present or two! As a kid, I helped my mom make loads of Christmas cookie and candies in the weeks leading up to Christmas.  The types of sweets varied year to year, but the one thing that we always made was fudge!  Typically the traditional chocolate type with walnuts, but we got more adventurous with peanut butter fudge, and even made our way into chocolate mint territory. Mom and I would typically make at least 8-10 types of cookies and candies, and would store them in the big deep-freeze that is still Continue Reading...

Salty and sweet come together for the most amazing gooey treat!  These Chocolate Caramel Cashew Clusters are simply made with just four ingredients, making them the perfect Christmas candy!  Fantastic for gifting, cookie exchanges, holiday parties or anytime you need to satisfy your sweet tooth! I would venture to say that one of my all-time favorite sweet treats is caramel.  When paired with chocolate and nuts, you can stop me in my tracks!  I blame my love of this sweet treat on my father.  Not only does he have a fierce sweet tooth that he lovingly passed on to me, but Dad also loves caramel treats just as much as I do.  I especially love a salty-sweet treat, and these Chocolate Caramel Cashew Clusters do not disappoint! Not only are these sweet treats delicious, they are Continue Reading...

Your favorite pie recipe made even more decadent and delicious!  Dark chocolate is added to this pecan pie recipe and topped with chocolate covered pecans for a show-stopping dessert!  This pie is perfect for your Thanksgiving or Christmas dessert table! My husband is one of the biggest pecan pie fans I know.  Don't get me wrong - I love it too, however, pecan pie is always at the top of Jason's must-have list for Thanksgiving, or any other holiday for that matter.  It is most definitely rich and decadent with a crunch from the roasted pecans that can't be beat.  To give some new life to this dessert, I've taken my mom's classic pecan pie recipe, and added even more richness with some dark chocolate and then topped it with chocolate covered pecans.  This pie recipe will be absolutely Continue Reading...

A delicious twist on the classic pumpkin pie!  Dazzle your dinner guests with this wonderfully simple pie recipe that is topped with a silky, delicious meringue.  Easy enough to make for your holiday meal, and fancy enough for a formal dinner, this pie is the ultimate Thanksgiving dessert! As far as I'm concerned, you simply cannot have Thanksgiving without a really awesome pie.  Yes, you can certainly have more than one dessert, especially if you're hosting a big crowd.  My Pumpkin Caramel Cream Cheese Poke Cake is a nice addition.  But to not have pie, particularly pumpkin pie, on Thanksgiving seems to be somewhat of a travesty.  I am definitely a pumpkin pie person.  My husband and mom are all about pecan pie, and my brothers cannot get through a holiday without Mom's Famous Continue Reading...

Pumpkin Velvet Crumb Cake

Pumpkin Velvet Crumb Cake

Meet your new favorite coffee cake!  This incredibly moist, velvety pumpkin crumb cake has all your favorite fall flavors topped with an amazing cinnamon crumble.  It's the perfect breakfast treat to serve on Thanksgiving morning, or simply enjoy with your pumpkin spice latte! The last time I was in NYC I stopped by a local coffee shop on my way home.  They had these gorgeous, HUGE (like the size of a salad plate!) slices of New York Style Crumb Cake.  Like many, I eat with my eyes, so I immediately chose the gigantic crumb cake along with a big cup of coffee to come with me on my trip back to D.C.  The cake and coffee were an absolutely wonderful treat for my journey back home, although I ended up with powdered sugar everywhere.  I decided that I quickly had to make a fall version of Continue Reading...
