Get your day off to a great start with this delicious Apple Cherry & Almond Breakfast Smoothie! Made with fresh, delicious apples, cherries, almonds, oatmeal and Chobani Greek Yogurt, this smoothie is nutritious, delicious and will keep you full until lunchtime!
My little guy is going back to school tomorrow! Not only are we venturing off to a new school, but we’ll be getting back into the school year routines. Gone are the lazy summer days of waking up whenever we want, and eating breakfast only if its not already lunchtime. (Ahhem, I’m referring strictly to my son, and not myself.) Going back to school means establishing those healthy morning routines, and a big part of that is having a healthy breakfast to fuel our bodies and minds for the day to come.
When I started making these smoothies, I mostly had myself in mind. As a busy mom, I’m always on the hunt for a quick, healthy breakfast that has plenty of protein, and that keeps me full until lunchtime. It can’t be loaded down with a ton of calories, and its gotta taste great, too. Tall order, I know! With these things in mind, I immediately reached for Chobani Greek Yogurt to whip up some delicious, healthy breakfast smoothies!
Chobani Greek Yogurt is amazing for making smoothies. Not only does it work as the perfect, creamy base for my smoothie, it has three types of probiotics, 40% less sugar than regular yogurt and no artificial flavors or sweeteners. I also love the fact that its providing me with more protein than regular yogurts, which will help keep me fuller, longer. Because, let’s face it – there is nothing worse that being ravenously hungry by 10am and then wanting to reach for something unhealthy.
I wrote the book on smoothies…literally!
Yes, that’s right! I’m the author, photographer and creator of The Protein Smoothie Bible cookbook.
It offers simple, 5-minute smoothie recipes that are perfect for quick, healthy breakfasts, snacks, or post-workout recovery.
I’ve even got a chapter all for kids! That’s right! Simple, easy, kid-friendly smoothie recipes that will get your kids and grandkids excited about making healthy food.

I stopped by my local Harris Teeter and picked up both Chobani Plain and Vanilla Greek yogurt. As you can see, Harris Teeter has a fantastic selection of Chobani. In the coming weeks, Harris Teeter, along with Kroger family stores will be celebrating Smoothie Week on September 4-6th. Make sure you stop by to check out the delicious Chobani in-store demos!
When mixing up these smoothies, I love to mix in fresh fruit and healthy proteins. I went with the Chobani Plain Greek Yogurt, however, you can also use the vanilla. From here I added some frozen cherries, fresh apples, almonds and oatmeal which will also provide great vitamins, minerals and fiber. Also adding some almond milk helps provide the smoothie with a nice smooth, creamy texture. To add a bit of sweetness, I also added a couple packets of stevia sweetener. Feel free to add the sweetener of your choice – honey, agave nectar, sugar or anything else that you prefer.
