Arrow

– 1 (15.25 oz.) box, spice cake mix – 1 cup, canned pumpkin puree – 1 cup water – 3 large eggs – 1/2 cup, vegetable oil – 3/4 cup, caramel dessert topping, like Smuckers or Torani Caramel sauce – 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, room temperature – 2 tbsp. milk – 1 cup powdered sugar – 1 1/2 cup, whipped toppin

INGREDIENTS

Step 1: Prepare the pan

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray a 9x13" pan with non-stick baking spray. Set prepared pan aside.

Step 2: Mix ingredients

With a hand or stand mixer, mix together the cake mix, pumpkin, water, eggs and oil. Stop occasionally to scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl. Mix until smooth.

Step 3: Bake and poke

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake at 350 for 30-33 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean and crumb-free. Once the cake comes out the oven, while it is still warm, poke holes into the cake with the end of a chopstick or straw.

Step 4: Pour caramel sauce

In a microwave safe bowl, heat up 1/2 cup of the caramel sauce for 20-30 seconds, just to warm. Pour the warm caramel sauce over the top of the warm cake, making sure the majority of the sauce goes into the holes of the cake. Let the cake cool completely.

Step 5: Add cream cheese mixture

While the cake is cooling to room temperature, prepare the cream cheese topping according to the recipe. Once the cake has cooled to room temperature, spread the cream cheese mixture over the top of the cake, gently pressing the topping into the holes of the cake. Smooth the topping evenly.

Step 6: Slice and enjoy

Drizzle the top of the remaining caramel sauce over the top of the cream cheese topping. Slice into 20 squares. Enjoy!
