– 5 cups apples, peeled and thinly sliced – 1/3 cup Swerve brown sugar substitute – 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon – 1/2 tsp. nutmeg Crumble topping: – 1 cup rolled oats (old fashioned oats are best) – 1 cup almond flour – 1/2 cup Swerve brown sugar substitute – 6 Tbsp. butter, melted – 1/2 tsp. baking soda – 1/2 tsp. cinnamon – 1/4 tsp. salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray an 8x12" baking dish with non-stick baking spray. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, add the oats, almond flour, Swerve brown sugar, baking soda and salt. Stir together with a fork to combine. Pour in the melted butter and stir with a fork. Mixture should be crumbly and have a gravel-like consistency.
Sprinkle the oatmeal crumble mixture evenly over the top of the apples. Cover the baking dish loosely with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, remove foil and bake another 10 minutes or until the oatmeal topping is golden brown.
Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes before serving
Great served warm with sugar free vanilla ice cream, a low-calorie vanilla gelato or yogurt.
