– 2 c. all-purpose flour – 1/3 c. granulated sugar – 1 Tbsp. baking powder – 1/2 tsp. salt – 5 Tbsp. cold butter – 4 Tbsp. cold cream cheese – 1/2 c. heavy cream – 1 egg – 1 tsp. almond extract – 1/2 tsp. vanilla – 1 1/3c. fresh cherries, pitted and halved – 1/4 c. sliced almonds + 2 Tbsp. for topping
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. To the dry ingredients, add the cold butter and cream cheese. Cut in with a pastry cutter or forks until mixture becomes gravel-like.
To achieve super-tender, flaky scones, make sure your butter & cream cheese are extra-cold. Shred with a grater to help easily work into the dry ingredients.
Mix together the glaze by combining the powdered sugar, cream cheese, cream and extract. Drizzle over the warm scones. Enjoy!
