– 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), salted or unsalted – 2 Tablespoons flour – 1 1/2 c. half and half – 1 1/2 c. shredded Parmesan Romano cheese – 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt – 1/4 teaspoon pepper – 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Step 1: Melt Butter and add Flour

To a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add in the flour and whisk to create a roux.

Step 2: Add in the half and half

Use a whisk to mix in the half and half to the roux. Keep the heat on medium-low. The mixture will begin to thicken.

Step 3: Add in the cheese

Slowly add in the shredded Parmesan cheese. Whisk it into the sauce as the cheese melts.

Step 4: Add in spices

Reduce heat to low. Add in the pepper, garlic salt and fresh ground nutmeg. Sauce will be thick and creamy.

Add to your favorite pasta!
