– 1 1/2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breasts – 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil – 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt – 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper – 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning – 4 cups fresh or frozen broccoli Alfredo Sauce: – 1/2 cup butter (1 stick) – 2 tablespoons flour – 1 1/2 cup half and half – 1 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese – 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt – 1/4 teaspoon pepper – 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
In a large non-stick skillet, melt the butter. Add in the flour and whisk. Pour in about 1 cup of the half and half, continually whisking until the sauce begins to thicken. Add the shredded cheese, and continue to whisk until the cheese melts. Add the garlic salt, pepper, nutmeg and the remaining half and half.
Making homemade Alfredo sauce is needs only 5-10 minutes to make, and is 100% worth it. So much better than store-bought.
Cook the tortellini according to package directions. Add it and the broccoli to the Alfredo sauce.
Stir the broccoli, tortellini and sauce together to coat well.
