Equipment

  • Stock Pot or Dutch Oven This Le Creuset Dutch oven is one of my all-time favorite pieces of cookware. Super durable and versatile! Great for soups and stews.
  • Cutting Boards This 3-Pack of non-slip cutting boards are a fantastic tool for every home cook.
  • Santoku Knife This 7" santoku knife comes with a bonus 5" knife. Sold through Macy's and at an AMAZING price I've never seen anywhere!

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lb. Sirloin cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 Tablespoons adobo sauce
  • 2-4 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce diced
  • 1 medium yellow onion chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 (15 oz. can) red kidney beans rinsed
  • 1 (15 oz. can) great northern beans rinsed
  • 1 (15 oz. can) tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 oz. can) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, add the sirloin tips, adobo sauce, and chipotle peppers. Stir to coat the steak. Set aside.
  • Heat a Dutch oven or stock pot over medium-high heat. Add olive oil. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper and sauté for 3-5 minutes or until onions are translucent. Remove from pot.
  • To the same pot, with the peppers and onions, add the coated steak, and sauté until mostly browned. Add the rinsed beans, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, water, chili powder, cumin, onion powder, and garlic salt. Stir to combine.
  • Bring chili to low boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Ladle into bowls and top with your favorite toppings like sour cream, shredded cheese, or jalapeño peppers.
