Meatball Sliders and Hawaiian Rolls


– 1 (24 count pkg.) Hawaiian Sweet Rolls – 1 pkg. (about 24) Italian meatballs, frozen – 1 (24 oz. jar), Marinara sauce – 1 1/2 c. mozzarella cheese, shredded – 1 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, shredded – 4 Tbsp. butter, melted – 1 tsp. minced garlic (about 2 cloves) – 1 tsp. Italian herbs – 1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese


Step 1: Slice the rolls horizontally

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a baking sheet (with edges) with aluminum foil. Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally so there is a top and bottom bread. No need to separate the rolls. 

Step 2: Heat meatballs with sauce

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Simmer the frozen meatballs with about a 1/2 cup of water. Add the jar of marinara sauce, reduce heat to medium and bring the sauce a meatballs to a simmer. 

Step 3: Add meatballs to rolls

Add a meatball to each bottom portion of the Hawaiian Rolls.

Step 4: Add Cheese

Cover the meatballs with the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Top the cheese covered meatballs with the top section of the rolls.

Step 5: Brush with butter, garlic & herbs

In a small dish or cup, combine the melted butter, garlic and Italian herbs. Brush the tops of the rolls with the butter mixture. 

Step 6: Add Parmesan Cheese

Sprinkle the tops of the rolls with the grated Parmesan cheese. Bake at 425 degrees for 6-8 minutes or just until the cheese are melted. 

Step 7: Serve with Marinara

Remove from oven and serve right away. Serve with reserved marinara sauce for dipping.
