Do you love going into a coffee shop and ordering a big, delicious Caramel Macchiato! I know, I love it too! However, as much as I love that classic coffee house drink, the cost tends to add up fast. When you add a breakfast treat along with your coffee, you’re typically just shy of $10! It’s certainly a nice treat every so often, but at least for me, not something I can easily afford on a daily basis.
One of the many reasons I love International Delight Caramel Macchiato Iced Coffee, is that its so affordable to enjoy on a daily basis! Having a delicious iced coffee is quick, easy and so much more affordable than indulging at your local coffee place. These half-gallon cartons are now in the tea and juice section at your local Walmart, and come in several delicious flavors.
I love the fact that I can now get a great coffeehouse quality drink right from my fridge at home with this International Delight Caramel Macchiato Iced Coffee. Not only is this awesome Caramel Macchiato Iced Coffee great as a cold beverage, but it also makes for an excellent ingredient in making my delicious Caramel Macchiato French Toast Cups! French toast is one of my absolute favorites for breakfast. Giving it a coffee house spin was something I had to try – as expected these French Toast Cups turned out amazing using the International Delight Iced Coffee as an ingredient.
Just like a standard French Toast recipe, I started with a big loaf of French Bread, which I picked up at Walmart, along with my eggs, cinnamon, sugar and caramel sauce. It really is a great one-stop-shop for everything you need to feed your family a fantastic breakfast!
As you can see from the step-by-step photos above, I cubed the loaf of French bread, and added it to a large mixing bowl. From there I combined the International Delight Caramel Macchiato Iced Coffee, along with the eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. I poured the liquid over the bread, and stirred to coat the bread cubes completely. I then added the chopped pecans, and stirred to combine. I then spooned the bread into a sprayed muffin tin, and then put it in the oven to bake.
These French toast cups come out of the oven beautifully golden brown. The pecans add a great texture and crunch and the International Delight Iced Coffee adds a great flavor to this delicious breakfast treat. As soon as the French Toast comes out of the oven, drizzle with the caramel sauce while they’re still hot.
The caramel will sink into the cracks and crevices of the French toast to give it a fantastic, gooey texture, much like a sticky bun.
From here, use a knife to pop these out of the pan and on to plates, and you’ve got a fantastic breakfast treat to go with your Iced Caramel Macchiato! This French toast recipe is perfect to make whenever you have overnight guests, and company staying with you for the holidays!
