Melted Snowman Popcorn Snack Mix
Next week is my son’s last day of school before dismissing for Christmas break. During that last day of school, the parents are able to coordinate a little party where they do a small holiday craft, watch a Christmas movie and enjoy a fun seasonal snack.
Since we’re usually short on time, I thought would make a snack that they can enjoy while they watch the movie. This fun Melted Snowman Snack Mix, made with Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP Sea Salt Popcorn would be a perfect fit for the classroom party treat.

Since we’re in the holiday season, I don’t have a ton of extra time in my schedule for making elaborate holiday snacks. This popcorn snack mix is a fantastic snack option for when time is tight, but you still want a fun and creative treat for your family. I absolutely loved using Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP Sea Salt Popcorn in this recipe.
Not only was it a huge time saver, not having to pop popcorn on the stove, but because it’s made with real, simple ingredients I feel confident serving it to my son and his classmates. Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP also prides itself on making non-GMO, gluten free snacks that your family will love. This fantastic popcorn snack is whole grain, and tastes like REAL popcorn – because it is!

Here’s a list of the ingredients you’ll need to make this Melted Snowman Popcorn Snack Mix:
- Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP Sea Salt Popcorn
- White Chocolate Chips
- Dark or Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- Pretzel Sticks
- Orange Candy-Coated Chocolate Candies
Here are simple steps to making this yummy Melted Snowman Popcorn Snack Mix:

Step 1: Place the Popcorn on a Large Pan and Drizzle with Melted White Chocolate
You’ll begin by placing the popcorn onto a large cookie sheet. For easy clean-up, I would recommend adding a sheet of waxed or parchment paper to the bottom of the pan. This also helps in breaking apart the snack mix once its ready to serve.
Melt the white chocolate chips according to package directions. I melted mine in the microwave using short-30 second increments, stirring during each increment. Then, drizzle the popcorn with the melted white chocolate. This will act as a base for the other ingredients to stick to the popcorn.
Once you’ve drizzled the popcorn with the white chocolate, you’ll want to work quickly with the following other snack mix ingredients. The melted white chocolate will begin setting as it cools to room temperature. It’s really helpful to have your other ingredients set-out and ready to sprinkle before you even melt the white chocolate.

Step 2: Add the Orange Candy-Coated Chocolates
Next, add the orange chocolates. These fun little orange candies not only add a little extra color to the popcorn, but represent the “carrot nose” of the melted snowman. Feel free to use chocolate or peanut butter candies – whichever you prefer.

Step 3: Add Chocolate Chips
The chocolate chips represent the “coal” on the snowman, and add a fantastic chocolate flavor to the snack mix. I used the larger dark-chocolate chips, but any size or sweetness will work well.

Step 4: Add Pretzel Sticks
The last ingredient you’ll add to this fun popcorn snack mix are the mini-pretzel sticks. These represent the “stick arms” of the snowman, and also add a great crunch to the snack mix. It’s the perfect compliment to the sea salt popcorn and the other sweet ingredients.

Step 5: Let Come to Room Temperature and Enjoy
The last step to making this yummy popcorn snack mix is to simply let the white chocolate come to room temperature. As it cools and hardens, the other ingredients will stick to the popcorn, creating a fantastic snack mix. If you need to speed up this process, place in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes – the chocolate will harden as it cools.
Enjoy this fun snack while watching your favorite Christmas movie, or a yummy treat to go with your hot chocolate on a snow day. This delicious salty-sweet popcorn snack mix will quickly become a family favorite!
