An amazing Champagne Cocktail for your holiday party!

Are you hosting Thanksgiving dinner, or maybe a holiday party with friends and family?  At one point or another, I’ve hosted pretty much all of these types of events, with family, friends or a mixing both.  My general thoughts on the success of a party is to have ample amounts of alcohol!

I say this for a few reasons; 1) It’s not really a party without drinks (its really just an after-hours meeting); 2) alcohol is typically a great way to break the ice, especially with people that don’t know each other well (great for mixing of said “friends and family”); and 3) the holidays are a perfect time for a fantastic, well crafted cocktail!

With these reasons in mind, I give you the Pomegranate Citrus Champagne Cocktail!

This libation is perfect for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and fantastic for brunch, too!

The perfect holiday pre-dinner pomegranate cocktail

This cocktail is perfect for just about every gathering imaginable!  Great with pre-Thanksgiving dinner appetizers, wonderful for a holiday brunch (think of an even yummier version of a mimosa!), and fantastic for a holiday cocktail party!  Anyway you serve this drink, your guests will be dazzled with this glamorous, yet super-easy drink!

The best way to serve a Pomegranate Champagne Cocktail for a party

I would recommend having all of these ingredients on hand for the day of your event.  Perhaps putting together a small drink station with the orange slices, pomegranate seeds and juice, rosemary sprigs, along with the liquors and Champagne.

You would be able to easily mix up these cocktails for your guests, however, this drink is simple enough for your guests to mix on their own as well.

You could also nominate one of your friends or family members to be the “bartender or mixologist” for the day or evening.  They could make sure everyone had a properly crafted cocktail and could also be in charge of freshening drinks for your guests.

What type of vodka is the best?

When stopping at my local liquor store to pick up vodka, I noticed that Skyy actually makes a Blood Orange flavored vodka!  I immediately picked up a bottle.

If you cannot find Blood Orange, simply use a citrus or orange flavored vodka instead.  I also added a bit of Cointreau, which is an orange liqueur, for some additional citrus flavor.

What can I serve with a champagne cocktail?

The citrus flavors in this champagne cocktail would be great with sweet and savory appetizers. Here are some great party appetizer options that would pair well with this cocktail recipe:

  • Cranberry Turkey Roll Ups
  • Parmesan Ranch Snack Mix Recipe
  • Crock Pot Cranberry Sauce Meatballs
  • Pistachio Grape Cheese Appetizers
  • Slow Cooker Honey Roasted Mixed Nuts

The slices of blood orange, in addition to the pomegranate seeds adds some amazing color to this cocktail!  The sprig of fresh rosemary is a wonderfully fragrant addition, and completes this cocktail perfectly!
