The Ultimate Strawberry Lemon Drop!
I decided that taking a self-imposed happy hour for myself was the perfect remedy to getting my week (and attitude) in a better place. Mixing up a Strawberry Lemon Drop Cocktail was the perfect drink for this occasion!
One of the many reasons I love this lemon drop cocktail is because it’s so easy to mix up. It takes less than 5 minutes from start to finish.
You’ll be in your favorite patio chair sipping this amazing lemon drop cocktail quicker than you can say “self imposed happy hour!” Here are the super-simple steps to making this amazing Strawberry Lemon Drop.
Step 1: Add ice to a cocktail shaker
You will want your cocktail to be nice and cold, so start with plenty of ice in your shaker. Don’t have a shaker? No problem. Grab a jar with a tight fitting lid – it will work in nearly the exact same way.
When it comes time to pour, simply crack open the lid leaving a small opening to strain the liquid from the ice, and pour your drink.
Step 2: Add the lemon drop ingredients
For this delicious lemon drop cocktail, you’ll need strawberry puree, limoncello liqueur, lemon vodka, and lemon-lime soda.
To make strawberry puree, simply add fresh strawberries that have been rinsed and de-stemed to your blender, and puree until they reach a smooth form. If fresh strawberries are not available, feel free to use frozen strawberries.
To the ice-filled shaker, add the strawberry puree, limoncello, lemon vodka, and lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7up). Place the lid on the shaker, and ensure it’s secured tightly. Vigorously shake.
Step 3: Pour the strawberry lemon drop into a cocktail glass
Remove the top portion of your cocktail shaker, and strain the cocktail into your favorite cocktail glass. Enjoy with a pretty lemon slice, or even add some frozen strawberries as a way to keep your drink extra cold.
If you’re using a mason jar instead of a shaker, simply crack the lid slightly, keeping the ice cubes in the jar and pour out the cocktail.
The flavors of this drink are amazing! It’s like a grown-up version of a strawberry lemonade. The limoncello adds some nice lemon sweetness, and the strawberries add a wonderful fragrance that goes perfectly with the lemon flavors.
This lemon drop cocktail will be a new favorite anytime you want to get the girls together for a mom’s night for drinks on the patio, or maybe a fun cocktail for your next book club. It would also be fantastic as a Mother’s Day or Easter brunch drink!
The next time you feel like you need to institute a self-imposed happy hour, grab your cocktail shaker, and make this simple and delicious lemon drop cocktail. Your week will be much better when you take a few minutes to yourself. Enjoy! ~Erin
