A delicious twist for a flavored Moscow mule recipe! Made with just a few simple ingredients, this Ginger Peach Moscow Mule, an easy fresh peach cocktail, combines the cold, crisp flavors of ginger beer with fresh peaches.

Ginger Peach Moscow Mule – a fresh take for a flavored Moscow Mule!
We’re at the tail end of summer, but the delicious Virginia peaches are still in their peak! I love nothing more than making a trip down to my farmers market and loading up on local yellow peaches. They are as sweet as candy, and perfect for adding to these cold, crisp Ginger Peach Moscow Mule.
Much like the classic moscow mule recipe, these mules are made with ginger beer and lime juice. Adding some fresh peach juice or nectar, is the perfect way to turn this classic cocktail into an amazing summertime libation!
Ingredients needed to make a peach Moscow mule:
- Peach Juice or Nectar – Goya makes a great peach nectar that is fantastic in cocktails. Goya makes a variety of juices, which can be found in the Hispanic section of your local grocery store. If you cannot find peach juice or nectar, blending fresh or canned peaches in your blender to make a peach puree is a great substitute.
- Ginger Beer – ginger beer is a non-alcoholic carbonated beverage similar to ginger ale. A few brands I would recommend are Fever Tree or Crabbies. Reed’s Ginger Beer is also a great zero sugar option.
- Vodka – we enjoy Tito’s vodka, but you can use about any brand of vodka that fits your budget. For a more intense peach flavor, you could use a flavored peach vodka.
- Lime juice – fresh squeezed lime juice is ideal in a mule, as it really brings ultra fresh flavor. When making a large batch or pitcher of Moscow mules, you could definitely used store-bought lime juice, like Santa Cruz Organics lime juice or Nellie and Joes Juice.

The History Behind How the Moscow Mule Was Created
Legend has it that back in the late 1930’s when the Moscow Mule recipe was originally created, bartender Wes Price of the renowned Brittish Pub Cock n’ Bull in Los Angeles had ordered far too much ginger beer and was having a hard time getting rid of it.
Additionally, vodka was just making its way to America, but the newly acquired Smirnoff was having a hard time catching on, as Americans were leery of drinking the liquor. Apparently, his girlfriends family owned a copper company and copper mugs were easy to come by.
With a bit of testing, Price combined the ginger beer, vodka and added lime and thus, came up with the Moscow mule recipe, served in an icy copper mug. The rest is cocktail history.
Copper mugs: you can now find copper mugs at just about any retailer that sells dinner ware and drink ware. Online retailers are also a sure-fire way to find some pretty copper mugs for drinking these Moscow Mules.
What Kind of Ginger Beer Is Best for a Moscow Mule?
There are several ginger beers on the market today. Here’s what I’ve found that works best in a Moscow mule:
- Gosslings – this has more of a spicy and bold flavor. If you’re looking for an intense ginger flavor, this is the one to go with.
- Fever Tree – this is my preferred brand of ginger beer as it’s crisp and light and doesn’t overwhelm the drink. It’s also very complimentary with the fresh peach flavor.
- Reed’s – this brand has a few options for ginger beer, including a sugar free option, which is great if you want to keep your cocktail on the ligher side.
- Bundaberg – I have not tried Bundaberg, however, many say this is a great balanced option that isn’t overwhelming.
How to Make Peach Juice
If you’re not able to buy or find Goya’s peach juice or nectar, you can easily make your own peach juice by blending fresh or canned peaches.
Using fresh peaches, remove any exterior peel. Place peeled peaches into a blender and puree. Add a few tablespoons of water to create a thinner, juice-like consistency. If you would like a sweeter juice, add 1-2 teaspoons of sugar for every 1/2 cup of peaches used. If using canned peaches, you can add 1-2 tablespoons of the syrup that the peaches come in, and leave out the extra water and sugar.
Frozen peaches can also be used when making peach juice. I would recommend letting the frozen peaches thaw before blending to ensure they are juicy.

How do I Make This Peach Mule as a Mocktail?
You can easily turn this cocktail into a Peach Moscow mule mocktail by a simple swap. Instead of using vodka, swap this out for additional ginger beer (non-alcoholic) or peach juice. So you’ll create a peach Moscow mule for Ginger beer, peach juice and lime juice.
Can I make a pitcher of Peach Moscow mules?
This recipe can definitely be made to accomodate a pitcher of peach moscow mules. A pitcher will serve 8 mules. Here’s what you’ll need: 2 cups of peach juice, 2 cups of ginger beer, 2 cups of vodka and 1/2 cup of lime juice. If you’re making this in advance for a party or gathering, combine the peach juice, vodka and lime juice and refrigerate. Add the ginger beer just before serving to prevent it from going flat. Can be made up to 24 hours in advance.

We had one of these as we were passing through Eastern Colorado. This place soaks the peach slices in the ginger beer. It was fantastic. The peach absorbed the ginger and had a really great kick.

This looks so good! What a great combination of flavors!
Thanks for sharing! How far ahead of time can I make them?
The drinks are typically best when made just before enjoying. However, if you’re wanting to prep ahead (maybe for a group of people), you can pre-mix the drinks a few hours in advance and keep chilled in a pitcher in the fridge. Enjoy!
Didn’t fill my cup , added more ginger beer and it was fantastic
