The Ultimate Strawberry Cocktail with Vodka
Spring is the perfect time to enjoy a strawberry cocktail! The days are longer, warmer and the perfect excuse to make a cocktail to enjoy outdoors in your favorite lawn chair. This Strawberry Shortcake Martini tastes just like the classic summer dessert. Perfect for sipping out of a martini glass.
Here are the simple steps to creating this delicious Strawberry Shortcake Martini:
Here’s a quick shopping list of ingredients you’ll need for this amazing strawberry shortcake martini:
- Cake flavored Vodka – if cake flavored vodka isn’t available, whipped cream or vanilla flavored vodkas are equally delicious.
- Cream liqueur – like Rum Chata.
- Fresh or frozen strawberries (for strawberry puree)
- Half and half
- Optional Toppings: sliced strawberries, whipped cream or my Homemade Cool Whip, which makes a fantastic drink topping.
For exact ingredient amounts and full recipe instructions, be sure to scroll down to the bottom of this post to the recipe card. Thanks!
Step 1: Start with Pureed Strawberries
The best way to do this is in your blender or food processor. You can use fresh or frozen strawberries. If using frozen strawberries, add a few tablespoons of hot water to help the blender blades.
Step 2: Fill a Cocktail Shaker with Ice and add the ingredients
Start by filling a cocktail shaker with ice, over half full. Pour in the cake vodka, RumChata or cream liqueur of your choice, the half and half, and the strawberry puree.
Pro-Tip: If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, you can use a quart-sized mason jar with a tight fitting lid.
Next, add the lid, making sure its secured tightly. Shake vigorously.
Step 3: Pour Strawberry Cocktail into Martini Glasses
The last step of making this delicious strawberry cocktail with vodka is to pour the drink into martini glasses. If your cocktail shaker has a strainer, use it to filter out any ice.
This cocktail will make two 8 oz. drinks, which is enough to fill 2 martini glasses. Add a strawberry to each glass for a pretty garnish.
