Do you love a spicy dipping sauce for your fries, tots and potatoes? Do you enjoy a little something extra for dipping your tacos, nachos and burritos?

This chipotle dipping sauce is the perfect option to have on hand when you love a little bit more than just ketchup. It is made with just three ingredients and takes just moments to make.

In this post I’ll show you what you’ll need to make this sauce, how to make it and what tools you’ll need. I’ll also provide you with ideas on how to serve this sauce and what it goes well with.

Bottle of Duke's mayo, can of chipotle peppers and a lime for making chipotle dipping sauce.

What do I need to make a chipotle sauce recipe?

Here’s a quick reference checklist of the ingredients you’ll need to make chipotle sauce:

  • Mayonnaise – we like Duke’s Mayo, but any mayonnaise will work for this recipe.
  • Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce – Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce can be found in the Hispanic Foods Section of your local grocery store. The chipotle peppers come in a smokey adobo sauce which brings down the heat of the peppers.
  • Fresh lime juice – I recommend using fresh squeezed lime juice. If fresh limes are unavailable, you can use bottled lime juice.

For exact ingredient amounts and full recipe instructions be sure to visit the recipe card at the bottom of this post. Thanks!
