Do you tend to gravitate toward a thick, creamy milkshake? It’s an amazing treat, especially on a hot day when only a cold milkshake will do.
This cherry milkshake is made with just a few simple ingredients, and mimics the flavors and consistency of a soda shop shake.
In this post I’ll show you exactly what you’ll need to make a milkshake, how to create the ultimate thickness and texture and what tools are the best for making shakes.
What do I need to make a cherry milkshake?
- Cherries – for this recipe, I used frozen cherries which can be found in most frozen food sections of the grocery store. You can also use fresh cherries or even jarred maraschino cherries.
- Vanilla Ice Cream – use a good quality vanilla ice cream. You can use either vanilla bean, French vanilla or any other premium vanilla ice cream.
- Whole milk – very cold, whole milk is ideal in making a milkshake. If you don’t have whole milk on hand, you can use another preferred milk, either dairy or plant-based.
- Sugar or other sweetener – if you would prefer to cut down on the sugar content, you could certainly use a granular monk fruit or stevia sweetener.
