What do I need to make chicken bacon ranch sliders?
Here’s a quick-reference check list of the ingredients you’ll need to make this slider recipe:
- Hawaiian Rolls – I recommend buying the 12-roll pack, or if you know you’ll have a big crowd to feed, they also make a larger party-sized pack of 24 rolls.
- Cooked Chicken – I swear by the Costco Pulled Rotisserie Chicken that they sell in their prepared foods section. I love using it for soups, salads and these chicken sliders. See all my favorite 15 Things I Buy at Costco for Healthy Meals and Snacks. You can use any cooked chicken, including roasting your own chicken.
- Bacon – go for the thick-cut bacon, as it cooks up well and creates a thicker more crisp chunk of bacon.
- Ranch dressing – feel free to use store-bought ranch dressing, or you can go a little healthier by using my Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing recipe.
- Sliced cheese – sliced Colby Jack cheese is a great pairing with the chicken and bacon. You could also use a sliced cheddar or Provolone as well.
What do I need to make the butter topping for these chicken sliders?
- Butter – this is ideal for creating a golden, delicious bun for your sliders.
- Dried parsley – great for adding a little extra color and flavor to the topping.
- Garlic powder – adds a subtle garlic flavor.
- Onion powder – creates a nice savory flavor to the topping of the bun.
- Grated Parmesan cheese – the perfect topping to compliment the flavors of the sliders.

How do I make Chicken Sliders with Hawaiian rolls?
To make these chicken bacon ranch sliders, start by combining the cooked chicken with the ranch dressing. Stir together in a bowl with a rubber scraper to evenly coat the chicken.
Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally with a long bread knife, so you have a bottom portion, and a top bun portion.
Place the bottom section of the Hawaiian rolls on a sheet pan that has been lightly sprayed with non-stick cooking spray or lined with parchment paper. Add the coated chicken pieces evenly onto the bottom portion of the bread.

On top of the chicken, add the cooked bacon pieces and the sliced cheese. Then, bake at 350 degree for 10 minutes. This will allow the chicken to heat through and the cheese to melt without over-browning.
Ingredient Substitutions and Recommendations:
- Sliced Deli Chicken – feel free to substitute sliced chicken, instead of chopped or rotisserie chicken. This is a great time-saver, you’ll just need to drizzle the ranch over the top of the sliced chicken.
- Store-bought bacon bits – these are found in the salad aisle next to the croutons and dressing. These are also another short-cut ingredient to help save time with prep.
- Shredded Cheese – using shredded cheese instead of sliced cheese won’t make a huge difference in flavor, but will allow you to add a couple different options to sprinkle over the top of the meat.

What is in the topping for Hawaiian Roll sliders?
Most of our slider recipes here at Delightful E Made use this delicious, savory Parmesan butter topping. It’s super simple to make and uses just melted butter, dried parsley, garlic powder, onion powder and grated Parmesan cheese.
Once the bottom portion of the sliders have baked for 10 minutes, pull out of the oven. Add the top portion of the Hawaiian rolls that you’ve set aside. Mix together the butter topping, that includes the melted butter, parsley, garlic and onion powder.
Brush the butter mixture over the top of the rolls. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the top of the butter coated rolls and bake the sliders to warm the top portion of the bread.
What pan is best for making sliders?
I’ve discovered the best pan for making sliders is a shallow sheet pan. This allows for even browning of the bread, while still keeping the ingredients stacked together.
We’ve also used a baking dish, like a 9 x 13″ Pyrex glass baking dish. This is another good option.
Should I slice the sliders before they are baked?
Sliders can be sliced either before or after being baked. Slicing the sliders before baking helps for serving, as it making lifting out the individual sandwiches from the pan somewhat easier.

What can I serve with sliders?
Sliders are a classic game-day food, that pair well with many sides. Here are some of our favorite side-dish recipes that make great party foods:
- Parmesan Ranch Steak Fries
- Parmesan Ranch Dipping Sauce – this is great for serving with the sliders for dipping
- Air Fryer Sweet Potato Wedges
- Corn and Black Bean Salsa – this is great as a salsa or a side salad!
- Calico Baked Beans
- Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad
- Cream Cheese Corn Dip
- Mexican Street Corn by Cupcakes and Kale Chips
