What do I need to make cream cheese corn dip?
This corn dip recipe is quite simple to make and requires just a handful of simple ingredients. Here’s a shopping list of the ingredients you’ll need:
- Cream Cheese – I recommend using regular, full-fat cream cheese, but you could also substitute Neufchatel cream cheese as well.
- Sour Cream – regular or low fat can be used for this recipe.
- Garlic Salt – great for adding a savory flavor to the dip.
- Chili Powder – also great for adding flavor and a bit of spice.
- Hot Sauce – I use either Cholula or Franks Hot Sauce hot. Both are fantastic and will give your dip a little extra spice without making it overwhelming.
- Frozen Corn – frozen corn works best and holds it shape when cooked with the other ingredients. You could also use canned corn, but be sure to drain and rinse.
- Bacon – thick sliced bacon is great for this recipe. Cut into small pieces, cook to medium-brown crispness and drain on paper towels.
- Fresh jalapeno – a welcomed flavor without making it too spicy, fresh, diced jalapeno goes great with the corn and cream cheese. It also adds some nice color as a garnish.
- Colby Jack Shredded Cheese – Colby jack melts well in this dip. You could also use white cheddar, sharp Cheddar or a Mexican blend cheese.

How do I make hot cream cheese corn dip?
To make this corn dip recipe, you’ll start by adding the frozen corn (no need to thaw) and the diced jalapeno to a large skillet. Heat over medium-high heat for 5-6 minutes to allow the corn to thaw and the jalapenos to cook.
Once you’ve cooked the corn and jalapeno, add in the cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheese, bacon, hot sauce and spices. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for another 3-5 minutes until all ingredients and melted together and well combined.
Love recipes with bacon? My Chicken Bacon Ranch Sliders also have crisp, savory bacon and are fantastic for a party!

How do I know when my corn dip is done cooking?
Once all of the ingredients have melted together and are well combine, the dip is done. This is a very easy-to-make hot dip that can be made quickly for a gathering.
What type of skillet is best for making a hot cheese dip?
For best results go with a non-stick skillet. It will be the easiest to clean. It is also easy to transfer the dip to a small slow cooker to keep warm for a party.
You could also use a cast iron skillet for making hot dip recipes like these. The skillet holds the heat well, so it keeps the dip warm after cooking. It also looks great as a serving dish, too!

How to serve hot cream cheese corn dip
For best results, keep your dip warm in a small crock pot or slow cooker. I like this 2 Qt. Crock Pot that’s ideal for serving dips. It will keep your dip warm for the duration of an entire football game or watch party.
