The ultimate apple quick bread recipe! Cinnamon, pecans, and lots of fresh apples are baked together making a fantastic treat with your morning coffee or a delicious afternoon snack. An amazing apple recipe perfect for fall baking!
This recipe was created in partnership with Kroger Family Stores, using ingredients provided by Kroger.
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of getting together with a few other food blogger friends. I absolutely love opportunities like this, as getting together with other people that do this wierd thing called blogging is something I can never pass up! I met with Karyn from Pint Sized Baker, Brianne from Cupcakes and Kale Chips, and Carrie from Frugal Foodie Mama! We all live in the Mid-Atlantic area, and decided that we’ve got to get together for a casual, relaxing weekend blog retreat!
We met at the most amazing Bed and Breakfast – The Hillbrook Inn & Spa in Charles Town, WV. I’ve gotta say, that this place was incredible! The four of us stayed in their Farmhouse property, which was absolutely perfect for a girls weekend. Surrounded by an apple orchard, it provided a gorgeous setting to enjoy a quiet sunset. The Farmhouse at the Hillbrook Inn was the ultimate setting for a relaxing weekend away.
During our stay at The Hillbrook, we enjoyed an amazing array of food and wine provided by Kroger! We put together some delicious charcuterie platters, and had an amazing alfresco dinner out on the back deck of the Farmhouse.
We had wonderful weather that evening, and were able to stroll the property. The apple trees that surrounded the Farmhouse were loaded with apples, which inspired me to make this delicious Cinnamon Apple Crumble Bread. Kroger sent us home with lots of fresh, delicious ingredients, so I got to work making this delicious orchard-inspired bread, perfect for breakfast or a yummy snack!
I love adding nuts, especially pecans to my quick bread recipes. Not only do they add a nice crunch, but the flavor is wonderfully complimentary with the apples and cinnamon. In addition to the pecans in the bread, I topped the loaf with a crumble-like topping made of brown sugar, flour, butter and pecans! It’s a perfect topping for this simple quick-bread recipe!
This recipe is very similar to my Purple Ribbon Banana Bread and simply substitutes the bananas for apples, and includes the cinnamon and nutmeg. The brown sugar pecan topping on the bread may be my favorite part – as it bakes, the brown sugar melts together with the butter, and creates this amazing caramelized crumble topping. The pecans bring it all together for the most amazing crunch!
Slice up this bread for a yummy breakfast treat, or an amazing afternoon snack with your coffee! I also like to slice up an entire loaf, and wrap the slices individually and take out for when I want a quick treat.
This bread is the perfect fall recipe, and is a great way to enjoy the apples you bring home from apple-picking!
