Do you love ordering a cold, refreshing daiquiri when you’re lounging poolside? A daiquiri is a wonderful tropical drink that has all the amazing vibes and flavors of a tropical beach resort.
With this recipe you can now make that classic tropical drink at home with just a few simple ingredients. In this post I’ll show you everything you’ll need to make this daiquiri recipe, substitutions and add-ins you can make and the tools you’ll need to make it quickly and easily.
What do I need to make a peach daiquiri?
- Frozen peaches – you can find frozen peach slices in the frozen foods section of your local grocery store. You can also use fresh or canned peaches, just make sure the peaches are peeled. Place the peaches on a sheet pan and freeze for a couple hours. This will ensure your drink blended to the perfect consistency.
- Ice – you’ll need ice to ensure the proper frozen consistency that a daiquiri needs.
- Peach nectar – peach nectar can be found in the Hispanic foods section of your local grocery store. The Goya brand makes several flavors of juices and nectars. If peach is not available, you can substitute apricot or mango, which have similar flavors. If your store does not carry nectars you can use a peach/mango juice or orange juice as a substitute.
- White Rum – white (not spiced) rum is the traditional liquor that is used in daiquiris. I used Bacardi for this recipe, but feel free to use any good quality white rum that you prefer.
- Cointreau – this is an orange citrus liqueur that is used in many cocktails. You can also use Triplesec if you don’t have Cointreau on hand.
- Lime juice – I recommend using fresh-squeezed lime juice for your daiquiri. The flavor will be optimal. Purchase one lime for each cocktail you plan on making.
Tools needed to make a frozen daiquiri:
- Blender – a blender is necessary for making a frozen, blended daiquiri. My favorite blender is pictured below.
- Citrus juicer – great for juicing fresh-squeezed lime juice.
- Hurricane glasses – ideal for serving any frozen drink, like daiquiris, frozen margaritas and pina coladas.

How do I make a frozen peach daiquiri?
To make a frozen daiquiri, add frozen peaches, ice, peach nectar, lime juice, rum and Cointreau to a blender jar. Secure the lid tightly.
Blend the daiquiri ingredients on medium-high speed until all ingredients are well incorporated and fully pureed.
Pour into a glass and enjoy right away while cold and frozen.
What alcohol is in a daiquiri?
A daiquiri is traditionally made with white rum. A great option would be Bacardi or Captain Morgan, however, there are many on the market today. Choose the best quality of white rum that fits your budget.
Is a daiquiri just a margarita with rum?
Margaritas and daiquiris are very similar. When made frozen (blended) margaritas and daiquiris both have fruit, lime juice, Cointreau (or Triple Sec), and ice. A margarita is made with tequila and a daiquiri is made with rum.
Ingredient Substitutions and Recommendations for a peach daiquiri recipe:
- Cointreau – if you don’t have Cointreau available, the next best option would be Triple Sec.
- Fresh-Squeezed Lime Juice – if you don’t have fresh limes on hand, you can also substitute bottled lime juice. This can be found in the juice section of your supermarket.
- Peach Nectar – this may be hard to come by for some. If you cannot find peach nectar, you can use orange juice as a substitute.
For exact ingredient amounts and full recipe instructions be sure to scroll down to the recipe at the bottom of the post. Thanks!
What is the best glass for a daiquiri?
The most traditional glass for a daiquiri is a hurricane or margarita glass with a stem. These stemmed glasses keep the heat from your hands off the glass, and will help prevent your drink from melting quickly.
What garnish is best for a daiquiri?
A simple maraschino cherry is the ideal garnish for a daiquiri. This drink features peaches, so including some fresh peach slices are also a great option.
Little drink umbrellas are also a popular option for any tropical drink. You can get these fun drink umbrellas from Amazon here.
