What do I need to make homemade yogurt dill dressing?
- Plain Greek Yogurt – You can find 5%, 3% or 0% in the refrigerated section of your local grocery store. Make sure to purchase plain and not vanilla yogurt.
- Fresh Dill – dill is sold in cut bunches in the produce section with the rest of the fresh herbs. If your store does not have fresh dill available, feel free to use dried dill.
- Lemon for juice – I recommend using fresh-squeezed lemon juice, as the flavor is far superior than bottled juice.
- Olive oil – I recommend Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Use the best quality of oil you can find for your budget.
- Spices & Seasoning: you’ll need garlic salt, garlic powder, onion powder and ground pepper.

Try this dill and yogurt dressing as a topping for these:
- Grilled Cedar Plank Salmon
- Lemon Pepper Grilled Chicken
- Parmesan Ranch Chicken Tenders
- Garlic Herb Roasted Red Potatoes
- Parmesan Ranch Steak Fries
- Sheet Pan Salmon & Asparagus
Ingredient Substitutions and Recommendations:
- Dill – if you don’t have access to fresh dill (recommended), feel free to use dried dill. Dried dill is found with the rest of the spices. It is often labeled as dill weed.
- Garlic – finely minced garlic can be used in place of garlic powder. I recommend using just 1-2 cloves.
- Finely diced cucumber – adding cucumber to this yogurt dressing would make this dressing like a tzatziki sauce. Adding cucumber will create more volume and crunch.
