Here’s how this fresh, crisp Cranberry Moscow Mule comes together:
What do I need to make a Moscow Mule?
The ingredients you’ll need to make a classic Moscow mule are vodka, ginger beer, and fresh lime juice. For this cranberry version, we will also use cranberry juice.
Here’s a quick-reference shopping list of the ingredients you’ll need to make this Christmas Moscow mule:
- Good quality vokda, like Tito’s
- Ginger beer – I like Crabbie’s
- Fresh limes for lime juice – plan for 1 lime for every mule you are expecting to make.
- Cranberry juice
- Garnish items: fresh cranberries, rosemary sprigs and lime slices
(For the exact ingredient amounts and full recipe instructions, please scroll down to the recipe at the bottom of this post. Thanks!)
Is there alcohol in ginger beer?
For many ginger beer’s there is little to no alcohol. Be sure to read your labels – for this ginger beer I’m using, there is alcohol. Most ginger beers contain less than .5% alcohol, and carbonated, not fermented, therefore classifying them as a non-alcoholic drink. Again, read your labels.
What vodka is best in a Moscow mule?
Purchase the best quality vodka you can afford to make your Moscow mules. I like and prefer Tito’s or Kettle One vodka.
Why does a Moscow mule have to be in a copper cup?
Copper is a good thermal conductor, therefore making it a good vessel to serve a cold cocktail. Copper mugs will keep the drink icy cold and prevent the ice from melting and watering down your Cranberry Moscow mule.
Is Moscow Mule a girly drink?
Nope! Moscow Mules are a classic cocktail enjoyed by everyone. If you’re looking for a cold, icy cocktail with a hint of lime and cranberry flavor, this libation is perfect for you – ladies or gents!
How do you garnish a Moscow Mule?
Traditionally, a Moscow mule is garnished with a lime slice on the edge of the copper mug. For this Cranberry Moscow mule, I’ve added fresh cranberries along with the lime slices and fragrant sprigs of rosemary. It adds a wonderful holiday vibe to this mule recipe
